This production, which centers around the experiences of a group of military nurses during the Vietnam War, was produced by California State University, Fullerton. It was recorded and edited with Pro Tools.
This first sample took place at the opening of the show. The nurses are all attending a memorial event in Washington D.C.:
The nurses, aboard a military plane, are attacked by anti-aircraft guns en route to a war zone. The sample begins with the background ambience that underscored the scene. They are fired upon, then must make an emergency landing. It then transitions into into a hospital, where a badly injured soldier lays dying. There were also live effects with microphones, such as hospital announcements, that underscored the cardiometer:
The nurses, after the war, collectively have a flashback. The cue called for parade music, a Christmas carol, helicopters, and an explosion-all "distorted and cacophonous":
A mine explodes, killing a soldier. The script called for an explosion. I added the rest to underscore the following dialogue, during which the nurse nearby panics:
